Botis

Otis, Jack the Ripper

Botis from Hell or Botis, is a Great President, and an Earl. He appeareth at the first show in the form of an ugly Viper, then at the command of the Magician he putteth on Human shape with Great Teeth, and two Horns, carrying a bright and sharp Sword in his hand. He telleth all things Past, and to Come, and reconcileth Friends and Foes.

On the 16th of October 1888, George Lusk, chairman of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee received a small box with a letter titled "From hell". When Lusk opened the box, he saw a kidney which had been preserved in spirits. The letter was written by the Whitechapel Murderer who claimed having eaten the other half of the kidney from a woman. He closed with "Catch me when you can Mishter Lusk."

Lusk snarled and huffed, "Shite this be hoaxery by students at Royal" and shoved the letter and box in a desk drawer. It wasn't until the following day that Lusk showed the items to other members of the Committee. A later examination of the kidney, by Dr. Frederick Wiles, revealed that the individual suffered from Bright's disease.

Metropolitan Police Service files show that their investigation into the serial killings encompassed 11 separate murders between 1888 and 1891, known in the police docket as the "Whitechapel murders". At least five of the murders are generally agreed to be the work of a single killer. The swiftness of the attacks, and the manner of the mutilations performed on some of the bodies, which included disembowelment and removal of organs, led to speculation that the murderer may have been a physician or butcher. As many as 300 people were investigated, and 80 people were detained. But with only circumstantial evidence, no suspect could be charged. The two-horned Jack with a bright sharp sword and great teeth to eat his victim's organs was never brought to justice. He telleth all things Past, and to Come: enter Peter Sutcliffe the Yorkshire Ripper of 1978.

Botis' mystical number is 60 and on his seal are emblems of a pair of kidneys.
